Slow Down, Rockstar, by Fallow Land

This album is the second record, but first full length by Fallow Land. This is by far the most ambitious project I have undertaken thus far in my career. We flew in our Producer Matt Bayles (Founding member of Minus the Bear, production credits with Mastodon, Foxing, Soundgarden, you name it) for a week of eight hour pre-production sessions. A few months later we crammed all our guitars, pedals, and amps into a small SUV and drove from Ann Arbor to Seattle Washington to record at Stone Gossard of Pearl Jam’s Studio, Studio Litho. The next 10 days we spent crafting the 8 songs that comprise this record. I contributed a lot more to this album than the previous Fallow Land release. Two of my songs, “The Body” and “The Time” made the record and I also took a crazy guitar solo on “The Dog Song”. In addition to this I contributed lots of lead guitar parts, some background vocals, and even a little piano.

This record was released on Spartan Records, the biggest label I have ever worked with. Because of our affiliation with them it was pressed on vinyl which has been a dream of mine since I started collecting lp’s in middle school. While it was definitely stressful to make, I look back on this record really fondly.
