Same Old Blue, by Max Cornell

This album was recorded with the amazing songwriter Max Cornell in the summer of 2019 and came out in January 2021. This record was tracked live in Max’s living room and because of that it has super lived in feeling which I love. For this record Max didn’t send us any demo’s beforehand, we went into the session blind and learned the songs as a band on the spot. While being really challenging this approach also leads to lots of little surprises, which I think wouldn’t have come about otherwise. I love this approach, so much so that it was actually an influence on how I tracked my solo record! On this one you will hear a lot of slide playing from me, which is a fairly new skill for me as a guitar player. In addition there are some fun little solo’s here and there as well as some more traditional lead playing. More than anything I love the vibe of this record, the players are all killer and Max’s songs are fantastically written. One of my favorites!
