loverboy., by Jaze Uries

This is a great song by the Asheville NC artist Jaze Uries that I had the pleasure of playing lead guitar on in Winter 2023. Jaze is an excellent musician, singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist who like me has done lots of different things musically in addition to pursuing his solo career. Working with someone with a deep musical background is always fun. Whenever I am supporting another artist I think the main challenge is finding a way to live in their musical world as completely as I can while still playing and sounding like myself. Jaze’s music lives in the world of soul grooves with a pop sensibility, a style that I don’t have as much experience playing or creating in, but in all areas of my musicianship and artistry I am always looking for new ways to challenge myself, so whenever I get the opportunity to work on some music in a genre that’s unfamiliar to me I jump on it! Even though it was uncharted territory for me I really like the way this song turned out, hopefully I get more opportunities to work in this genre in the future.
